Art Gallery Tours

A majority of the artwork in the hotel and on the website can be found for purchase at Northern Images online gallery. These images are from renowned photographer Dennis O’Hara.

One of Duluth’s great hidden treasures is its great collection of art galleries and studios. The unbelievable scenery and landscapes of the area and the North Shore provide inspiration to artists of all types of craftwork and design.

The Duluth and North Shore area offer over 30 unique studios and galleries that feature local photography, sculptures, paintings, woodwork and metal work pieces that are exquisite and breathtaking.

Using the seasonal Port Town Trolley (June-August) to self-tour galleries is becoming very popular, as it allows you an extremely inexpensive way to travel at a leisurely pace and explore various galleries in downtown Duluth and Canal Park.

The Park Point Art Fair has become one of Minnesota’s premier art events and is held on the end of Park Point in June.

There is the Lake Superior 20/20 Studio Art Tour from Duluth to Two Harbors that has become a very popular annual event. It consists of artists in a 20 mile loop East of Duluth to West of Two Harbors, and passes by some unique restaurants and gift shops. The Annual Gallery Hop usually involves about 10 different galleries in April, and has become a 20-year tradition of enjoying local artists, and a really fun way to spend a day.

Crossing Borders Tour involves artists in Minnesota and Canada and happens in the Fall. It has been an annual event since 1996. We encourage all of our guests to view the beautiful photography of Dennis O’Hara online at http://www.northernimages.com/. Most of the beautiful artwork in our guest rooms and some on our website can be purchased from his gallery.

Cross over the bridge from ordinary and spend a day enjoying some awe-inspiring art.
