Children’s Activities

The Park Point Marina Inn has a paradise of great amenities and activities that children love.

Children are absolutely enamored with the Coast Guard ship Alder located next door to the resort. It provides a beautiful and stunning backdrop to the Coast Guard Station. Ice cream from the gift shop always brings a smile to a child’s face. Since we are located 1 block from the Park Point Beach there are hours of swimming, sand castle building and beach combing to enjoy. Renting a bicycle and exploring the Lakewalk or Park Point is a great way to spend a family day. Picnic lunches on the Breakwater Pier Walk while watching the ships sail by is a great children’s activity.

The Great Lakes Aquarium and the Lake Superior Zoo provides hours of entertainment. Bayfront Family Center at Bayfront Park, located 10 blocks from the hotel, has a great playground and rents kites, kickballs, and croquets. The park is open from 11am-7pm on Monday-Thursday.

Kids love wading in the pools at Gooseberry Falls or riding on the pizza train from the Depot in Duluth.

Snow tubing at Spirit Mountain provides great winter fun. Bentleyville in December is a must-see for all children, regardless of their age. Make sure to try and see a ship pass under the Aerial Lift Bridge, located 4 blocks from the hotel. Children’s eyes widen as they start waving to the crew on-board a 1,000 foot ship that passes within feet of them.

There are literally hundreds of activities and sites that children will find exciting and fascinating. It’s why Duluth and the North Shore are one of the top ranked children’s destinations in the Midwest.
