The North Shore Scenic Drive Highway 61, an All-American Road, has more state parks on it than any other highway in Minnesota. Two of the most popular state parks in Minnesota are located within 40 minutes of the resort, Gooseberry Falls State Park and Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. Palisade Head, with its towering cliffs and magnificent vistas of Lake Superior, is a hidden treasure just North of Silver Bay. Make sure to walk over the bridge at Jay Cooke State Park for a great view of the St. Louis River. Tettegouche State Park has miles of wilderness walking and hiking trails above Lake Superior that lead into the Sawtooth Mountains. All of these state parks provide a great day of adventure from the resort, and are an outdoor enthusiast’s dream.
