Some days the weather doesn’t cooperate with our getaway and vacation plans. Luckily the Park Point Marina Inn is located within 5 blocks of some of Duluth’s most popular indoor activities. These include, Adventure Zone, Vertical Endeavors, and the Lake Superior Maritime Museum. Other great indoor attractions located within a seasonal trolley ride away (June-August), are the Great Lakes Aquarium, The Depot, Fond-du-Luth Casino, Lake Superior Railroad Museum, and the Duluth Skywalk for downtown shopping. The Miller Hill Mall offers over 60 great retail stores and is located on top of the hill, about 10-15 minutes away from the hotel. The Duluth Experience offers history, brewery, and outdoor adventure tours which are a great inclement weather option. On really stormy days, guests who want to brave the elements can go to the Duluth Lighthouse next to the Aerial Lift Bridge, and watch the waves crash into the breakwater. It is quite exhilarating, especially during extremely windy storms. Another option on a rainy or snowy day is to relax in front of our River Rock Fireplace and enjoy your favorite book, and a glass of wine. We offer Spirit Mountain discounted passes for ski tickets in the winter to enjoy the day’s snowfall. They also have snow tubing rental, which is a great family fun adventure option. There are rental facilities like the Recreational Sports Outdoor Program at UMD that offer snowshoes, ice fishing equipment, and other recreational equipment to help you enjoy those snowy days.
